Rs 100 billion from PSDP funds may be diverted to provinces
The Federal government is considering to divert to provinces Rs 100 billion earmarked under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2010-11 for early relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees due to poor response from the world community, Business Recorder has learnt. Setting up of business incubation centres for women entrepreneurs on the cards
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) under a network plan would establish 15 Women Business Incubation Centres (WBIC) in various parts of the country and Azad Kashmir. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that under the four Women Business Incubation Centres in Sindh, five in Punjab, two in NWFP, two in Balochistan, one each in Azad Kashmir and Northern areas would be established. more... Pakistan given $1.03 billion so far: 80 percent of aid money to be disbursed through NGOs, says Prime Minister
Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that international donor agencies including the United Nations and some foreign countries have so far given $1.03 billion aid besides 137 planeloads of goods and medicines. He said a meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) has been summoned on Monday (September 6) and the Chief Ministers of all the four provinces would participate in the meeting. more... SHV Energy Pakistan has said that it is completely following the directives of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) regarding the notified prices of LPG. Country-wide uniform power tariff: World Bank proposes special surcharge on power bills
The World Bank has suggested to the government to slap special surcharge on electricity bills in case the latter intends to maintain uniform power tariff throughout the country. Commenting on the Business Plan 2010-11 of Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco), the Bank observed that there is not a visible consensus on whether the tariffs notified should be uniform, non-uniform, or somewhere in between. more...
